Logging Your Workouts

This article covers how to log your sets and reps and leave any notes on the workout.

**Before starting your session - always swipe the app to refresh the data, in case I have adjusted the workout numbers since your last session or added any notes!**

My Numbering in your Programme

I will programme in your working weight, number of reps and how many sets for each exercise.

The format I use is: Weight. Reps. Sets.

Example, if I wrote 100 x 5.

This would be 100 (kgs or lbs according to your gym plates) and for just 5 reps only.

If I wanted you to do more sets than one I would write.

100 x 5 x 2.

Indicating 2 working weight sets to be done.

You control your rest times in between sets, and also the warmup process.

Notes on The Workout

In the notes box on the workout you can leave me brief comments when needed. It’s fine to leave this box empty, but it’s helpful for me to know if you are having trouble recovering, perhaps from a poor night of sleep, or missing any meals due to a busy schedule or any other stressors that may effect your workout. Especially if you are coming down with a cold or a bit of sickness, this may reflect a change in programming that I would want to make.

Logging your workout in The app

  1. Reconfirm the weight lifted, 2. then add in each set of reps as you go.

Example: I may programme 85 x 5 x 3 (85kg for 5 reps and 3 sets total)

You would warm up then log the sets like so: 85 x 5 5 5

Any workout notes can be entered into the message box of the workout, and you can load in your form video via the camera icon.

If you miss a rep

Then, still put the set numbers in the box, for example:
50 x 5 5 3

This helps as it tells me exactly where the failed rep occurred in your sets.

***If you do fail a set on a lift and I have not seen/done the form check for you, and it comes time to do that exercise again, then you should not progress onto the new higher weight but instead re-do the previous weight***

If you miss a workout

Also if you miss a workout altogether, do not skip ahead to the current days workout, please go back to the last workout you missed and do that one, then just put that in the notes for me.

if you cannot make videos for A session

If this happens, log all the workout reps as normal. AND go to the comments box for that workout and leave me a note there.

This comment is important as it will trigger a notification to me that you’ve done the workout, without a note from you in the comment box (and with no videos) I will not be notified and may miss the progress!

The green arrow indicates where to click to add a comment.
